New Chapter — Clim A.G Inc. Takes Over Sunshine Renewable Clients
- Family-run HVAC contractor Clim A.G Inc. has purchased the customer list and phone line of troubled heating supplier Sunshine Renewable Energy, a move the buyer calls “expensive,” but worthwhile.~
- Sunshine Renewable, formerly one of the province’s largest heat pump installers, filed for bankruptcy in April (see 2025-04-23), citing “negative market conditions,” just months after founder and owner Richard Ross died suddenly (see 2024-06-13).
- Clim A.G was founded by brothers Gerti and Ben Zaloshnja in Montreal in 2013, and has been operating in Nova Scotia since their family relocated in 2023. The brothers sold their Quebec database and phone line before heading East.
- “But we had no work over here at first. We were unknown. And then we bought Sunshine Renewable’s list and it has kept us busy,” Gerti Zaloshnja said in an interview.
“Now, the phone doesn’t stop ringing.”
- The Zaloshnjas had been seeking to acquire intellectual property from a well-known company since arriving in the province to help them break onto the scene.
- The five-employee Clim A.G Inc., which now employs the brothers’ nephews, will be in Nova Scotia “for the long run,” Gerti Zaloshnja said.
- Burnside-based Sunshine had grown into a 40-vehicle operation, boosted by government incentives aimed at replacing oil-fired furnaces with electric heat pumps.
- The company’s bankruptcy filings cited just over $1.1 million in assets against about $2.4 million in liabilities, for a shortfall of just over $1.3 million.
- Grant Thornton partner Liam Murphy was appointed as trustee and confirmed to allNovaScotia the sale of its rolodex and phone line.
